Waterlogged with the Superyachts at the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show
By Katherine Verano in Marina
Despite being a bit waterlogged from Tropical Storm Sandy, we've had a tremendous first day here at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Most folks with whom we spoke today are keen on Christophe Harbour and happy to hear that the superyacht marina is expected to come online for next season, albeit with limited services. We're sensing a continued uptick in the superyacht industry, and it seems our timing just might be spot on.
The interest in our marina berths continues to be high, and we're happy to have sold 8 of the 11 available in this first phase. Dragage Caraibe will soon arrive in St. Kitts to complete the remaining excavation work in the entry channel and yacht basin, and marina construction is expected to commence in January.
Until then, we'll be walking the docks here in Fort Lauderdale spreading the good word, hopefully taking reservations for the remaining 3 marina berths, and dreaming about the day, not too far from now, when we can see some of these boats at OUR dock in Christophe Harbour.
