Some exciting news from Kiawah Partners today.

Doonbeg Golf Club and Kiawah Island Golf Resort were named Top Golf Resorts of the Year, 2010 for Europe and North America by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) last night in Malaga, Spain.

Over 2,000 golf resorts from around the world were considered for this award and were judged based on customer satisfaction, quality of golf course and accommodation, value for money, accessibility to tee times as well as speed of communication and quality of service of the golf resort sales and marketing team.

The more than 300 golf tour operators from 49 different countries that make up the IAGTO, chose Doonbeg and Kiawah Island over a list of world-renowned golf resorts.  Past winners in the North American category have included: Pebble Beach Resorts, in Carmel, CA, the PGA National Resort & Spa, in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, FL; and in Europe: Turnberry (Scotland), Druid’s Glen (Ireland), Praia D’El Rey (Portugal), Dona Filipa & San Lorenzo (Portugal) and Carton House (Ireland).
