By Katherine Verano in

As real estate sales and resort development continue to show positive momentum at Christophe Harbour, the company announced it has hired Douglas “Chip” Nelson as general manager.  Nelson will oversee the management services division that encompasses the entire day-to-day operation of the 2,500 acre resort which includes the Christophe Harbour Club; all food and beverage; member, guest, and hospitality services; as well as the property management function.  While new to Christophe Harbour and St. Kitts, Nelson was most recently the regional director of operations for RockResorts’ properties in the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, St. Lucia, Costa Rica, and Jamaica.

“The pieces are in place for Christophe Harbour to achieve significant milestones in resort development this year, and it is imperative that we have someone with Chip’s experience on the ground that can help guide our team through this very important period,” said Christophe Harbour Chief Operating Officer Bill Lee.  “Chip is someone that knows and understands both our clientele and the Caribbean, and has experience working with large scale projects. His expertise is going to be invaluable to our team here.”

With more than two decades of resort hospitality management experience, Nelson brings a wealth of knowledge to Christophe Harbour having worked in key roles within Vail Resorts, RockResorts and Marriott Hotels.  His wide-ranging skill set includes leadership roles in restaurant, event, and property owner association management, accommodation rental sales and marketing, and property owner association accounting.
