Christophe Harbour is pleased to introduce its luxury retail shops launching in the marina village. In this week’s profile, we’re excited to showcase Ballast Bay Outfitters:

St. Kitts and Nevis are known for their iconic volcanic peaks and crystal blue waters, a landscape made perfect by nature and perfect for outdoor adventure. From challenging hikes to cross-channel swims, mountain biking to padddleboarding, adventure is always just a hop, skip or jump away.

Enter Ballast Bay Outfitters, the newest addition to the retail shops at Christophe Harbour’s marina village.  Ballast Bay Outfitters is the first true “outfitter” in the Federation to offer a full line of outdoor sportswear and equipment that is battle-tested in the environs of St. Kitts and Nevis.

CEO / Owner Dr. Nick Spaccarelli is a former professor at Ross University in St. Kitts. An avid outdoorsman, Spaccarelli fell in love with the wild side of St. Kitts and Nevis during his tenure there and made it his mission to explore every inch of it. He’s been part of the island community for 13 years and started up a stand-up paddleboard business six years ago. He is excited to expand that knowledge and experience to the retail side.

“I believe that a good pair of sunglasses, a comfy pair of swim trunks and a tough pair of sandals are all you need to be happy in the Caribbean. Couple that with a dive mask, a pole spear, a sharp knife and stand-up paddleboard, and well… you get the picture,” says Spaccarelli.

Ballast Bay will feature paddleboards, snorkeling gear, kayaks and other outdoor equipment along with sundries including top brand sport sunglasses and skin care products. Some of the most tried and true brands, including Honu and Pelikana, Dakine, Costa, Leatherman, and Olukai will be on offer.

In addition, the owners have also chosen a number of items that are environmentally friendly, such as coral- and reef-safe suncare and skincare products, and the shop itself is designed using reclaimed elements from within St. Kitts and Nevis to create an organic space that blends in with its natural surroundings.

Ballast Bay Outfitters is located at the marina village at Christophe Harbour. The shop opens January 7, 2017 - just in time for new year resolutions. Store hours from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm on Sunday.
