29 Years of Independence - Congratulations St. Kitts & Nevis

By Katherine Verano in St. Kitts

The government and people of St. Kitts & Nevis are this year celebrating another important milestone in their history and political development, and Christophe Harbour is  delighted to not only share in this auspicious occasion, but to also recognize the role we play in the future growth of this emerging Caribbean state.

It is not difficult to fall in love with this tropical paradise. Once you get here, immediately you feel a part of the community. And this feeling is exactly Christophe Harbour has experienced for the past 4 years. Therefore, when we say Happy 29th Anniversary of Independence, we express it with pride and honour as a committed corporate citizen of Liamuiga & Oualie.

Christophe Harbour commends the Federation's citizens and government’s perseverance and persistence in their journey to nationhood.  “I have travelled to and lived in many countries, and I have seen many of smaller nations struggle with the same challenges, so when I see the tenacity of our government here, working with the various entities in the global financial world and succeeding in attracting foreign investment, improving the country for the good of all … I am proud to be part of this community,” stated Mr. Bill Lee, the new Chief Operating Officer at Christophe Harbour.

The parent company of Christophe Harbour, Kiawah Partners, in Charleston, South Carolina, demonstrates confidence in and a commitment to the future of this country, through its significant, continued investment in the creation of its resort community at the Southeast Peninsula. With tourism and services viewed as key pillars of future economic development, we applaud the government’s crafting of a strategic landscape of financial incentives to help investors like Christophe Harbour lure investors from all parts of the world. This effort has helped arm tourism planners with a much needed edge, to appeal to a more discerning and sophisticated clientele.

This has been a marriage in which Christophe Harbour remains fully committed to its role, as evidenced in our community support and outreach programs, administered through the Christophe Harbour Foundation. We look forward to being a part of many Independence celebrations to come.

St. Kitts & Nevis became independent on 19th September, 1983.
