The RORC Caribbean 600 brings sailing legends to St Kitts

Last week, we were lucky enough to witness some serious racing yachts in the waters around St Kitts participating in the Royal Ocean Racing Club’s (RORC) Caribbean 600. One of the great 600nm ocean race challenges, along with the Rolex Fastnet Race and the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race, the Caribbean 600 (running 22 February to 26 February this year) sees participating yachts circumnavigating 11 Caribbean islands, starting at ending in Fort Charlotte, English Harbour, Antigua, taking in places like St Maarten, Guadeloupe, Barbuda, St Kitts and Nevis, Saba and St Barths.

Caribbean CrewFest brings superyachts and their crew to St Kitts

15 and 16 January saw Christophe Harbour play host to the first ever Caribbean CrewFest in partnership with ACREW Yachting. A resounding success, the event brought 10 yachts, including M/Y Naia, S/Y Perseus^3, M/Y Galaxy, S/Y Timoneer and M/Y Seawolf, into The Marina at Christophe Harbour, with 98 crewmembers taking part in five professional development workshops, networking and a fantastic crew party with Zoom Yachting.

Waterlogged with the Superyachts at the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show

Despite being a bit waterlogged from Tropical Storm Sandy, we've had a tremendous first day here at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Most folks with whom we spoke today are keen on Christophe Harbour and happy to hear that the superyacht marina is expected to come online for next season, albeit with limited services. We're sensing a continued uptick in the superyacht industry, and it seems our timing just might be spot on.
