Marina Opens with a Bang

It was unquestionably one for the history books. Fireworks, Grammy-Award winning artists, and superyachts as far as the eye could see. The Marina at Christophe Harbour certainly opened with a bang.

Former front man for Hootie & the Blowfish and multi-platinum recording artist Darius Rucker headlined the evening with Caribbean artist Bankie Banks before a crowd of 1,500 people at the marina site. A fireworks show above the marina was the exclamation point to what was truly the most memorable night in Christophe Harbour’s history.

“There’s a reason we call it Christophe Harbour,” says yachtsman Buddy Darby, Christophe Harbour owner and CEO. And that long-dreamed-about harbour is now becoming reality. After a challenging start to dredging operations, the right team is now in place and the timing is right, according to Darby. Monkey Business

The Christophe Harbour Foundation is pleased to support a new vervet monkey research initiative led by biological anthropologist and primatologist Dr. Kerry M. Dore. Dore, now an instructor in the School of Science at Marist College and member of the Center for Conservation Medicine and Ecosystem Health at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, has extensive experience studying primates and has been researching vervet monkeys in St. Kitts since 2010. This summer, Dore brings her studies to the Southeast Peninsula.

Park Hyatt Construction Underway

It's an exciting time at Christophe Harbour as we are excitedly watching the superyacht marina taking shape along with the much-anticipated Park Hyatt St. Kitts hotel at Banana Bay. This hotel will be the first Park Hyatt in the Caribbean region. 

Construction of the hotel is underway with visible progress on the quintessentially Caribbean beachfront site. Work is underway on 11 of the 26 buildings, including the reception and meeting facilities, that will comprise Park Hyatt St. Kitts. Vertical structures are rising and the structure of the first building will be completed by mid-August. Construction is progressing on schedule, and we are stil anticipating a December 2015 soft opening.
