St. Kitts Leatherback Sea Turtle makes its way to Massachusetts

A leatherback turtle from St.Kitts found earlier this month off the coast of Massachusetts in the North Atlantic Ocean. The turtle, named Kitty, was originally tagged in St. Kitts by the The St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network (SKSTMN). Exciting news for Dr. Kimberly Stewart and her team at SKSTMN. Kitty's movements can be tracked online.

Christophe Harbour Development Update

With November’s grand opening of The Pavilion beach club, Christophe Harbour now has its social anchor. The magnificent beachfront structure, home to exquisite dining, lively activities, and top-tier service has already been featured in Maco Magazine. Paving was completed on the Cardinal Point road in February, marking the completion of the infrastructure in Sandy Bank Bay. Now, our primary focus can turn to the building of the superyacht marina. A 240-foot dock has been installed. This offers mooring capabilities for six superyachts greater than 150 feet in length.

While we here at Christophe Harbour have a great many people to thank for protecting St. Kitts' stunning, natural environment, the Dermochelys coriacea reserve their heartfelt gratitude for Dr. Kimberly Stewart, of the St. Kitts Turtle Monitoring Network.

Following a grant from the Christophe Harbour Foundation, Dr. Stewart and her team have worked diligently to educate our beach cleaning crews and landscape staff on the habits and habitats of the island’s sea turtles. The St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network (SKSTMN) is a nonprofit organization that studies nesting populations and advocates for the strengthening of sea turtle protection laws.
