Easter celebrations are certainly not limited to the Caribbean, but in a predominately Christian region such as ours, you'll find many devout island residents.  From easter egg hunts to cross buns and the reverance of Holy Week church services, Easter and its associated traditions are revered and upheld. One of the perhaps lesser known Caribbean Easter traditions is Good Friday Kite Day. 

Children are out of school for Easter break and from the countryside to the peninsula, if you look to the sky you will find colorful kites soaring against the blue. Many are homemade and decorated with beautiful designs, and there are competitions and prizes for the best creations. Easter time...

The exclamation point to the summer's flurry of construction activity has to be the groundbreaking and beginning of earthworks for a new private home to be constructed in the upper Pavilion Hill area at Christophe Harbour. Designed by Morehouse MacDonald and Associates and built by Bennett Hofford Construction, the 5,500-sq ft custom residence will overlook The Pavilion, beautiful Sandy Bank Bay and the harbour, and when complete in Fall 2018 will be the first custom home built on the upper hillside and the first to be built for full-time residents.
