Preparing for the Bucket

Thursday, March 25 - Prep Day: Andromeda La Dea, the 152' Perini Navi mega yacht is preparing for one of the premier sailing events of the year which takes place this weekend in St. Barths - the St Barths Bucket.

The Bucket brings together 40 world class sailing vessels for three days of racing and camaraderie. Early indications are that the crews and the weather are in top form. Representatives from Christophe Harbour are also on hand this weekend to spread the word about the next big thing in the Caribbean, Christophe Harbour, St. Kitts and its mega-yacht marina currently in development. With the sailing world always looking for the next safe harbor, we are thrilled about the possibilities of the Bucket.

Christophe Harbour Begins First Phase of Marina Construction

The Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, Honorable Denzil Llewellyn Douglas and other distinguished members of the community were on hand to commemorate the announcement and express their support for the project.  The marina excavation project will be managed by St. Kitts Marine Works, which is owned and operated by Kittitian Regiwell Francis.  The $6 million project is expected to take between 14-16 months and provide numerous employment opportunities for other members of the St. Kitts National Association of Heavy Equipment Operators.

Making a Splash in St. Barths

In March, Christophe Harbour sponsored The Bucket Regatta, held in St. Barths. The regatta featured 35 super-yacht sailing ships. After the race, the ships were invited to sail over to Christophe Harbour’s Whitehouse Bay, which offers some of the finest anchorage in the Caribbean, for a visit to St. Kitts.

In 1995, the St. Barths Bucket started with a fleet of just 4 yachts. Christophe Harbour Welcomes First Yachts

A choppy economy did not prevent a collection of luxury yachts from navigating Caribbean waters to attend the festive “Crew Rendezvous” event in St. Kitts in December 2008. They came by sea to preview plans for the new mega-yacht harbour and marina at the developing Christophe Harbour luxury resort in St. Kitts.
