Sunrise Turtles

Sales Assistant Molly Parnes was enjoying a beautiful Kittitan sunrise at the beach at Cockleshell Bay, when she noticed something moving along the shore. Much to her surprise, she’d stumbled upon a nest of sea turtle hatchlings. “I can’t tell you how personally excited I was to see them marching water and actually swimming,” said Molly. “When you hold them they would play dead, sink a little, then open their eyes again and dart off in the water.”

Culturama 35: Keep De Culture Alive

In its 35th year, Culturama celebrates the Nevisian culture through pageantry, folklore, and social commentary. The preliminary events, usually lasting 12 days, kicked off on July 4 with the Culturama 35 Street Bash and wrapped up August 4 with the Cultural Street Parade. Every year the event coincides with the momentous Emancipation anniversary and features street jamming, j'ouvert, cultural shows, calypso competitions, horse racing, and parades of troupes and bands. Christophe Harbour was a proud supporter of this year’s Culturama festivities.

The annual St. Kitts Music Festival (SKMF) is easily the biggest on-island event of the summer season.  Established in 1996, the festival showcases different genres of music that attract broad based international participation and promote St. Kitts and Nevis as a major tourist destination. The St. Kitts Music Festival has earned the reputation of being the most diverse musical show in the Caribbean. Over the years performers include such celebrity artists as John Legend, Shaggy, Wyclef Jean, Bankie Banx, and Dionne Warwick. This year’s lineup included KC and the Sunshine Band, T-Pain, Ziggy Rankin, and Stephen Marley.

Now Boarding Delta flight 573 to St. Kitts

Travel to St. Kitts just got easier with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority announcement that Delta Air Lines is increasing airlift service for the upcoming winter travel season. Delta has added a second weekly non-stop flight from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, which will operate on Wednesdays, starting December 23, 2009, and complement the existing Saturday non-stop flight. The addition of Delta flight 573 is just one indication of the increasing popularity of St. Kitts. The island and Christophe Harbour were recently mentioned in several top publications, including the UK's Sunday Times where Christophe Harbour COO LeGrand Elebash was quoted.
