The annual St. Kitts Music Festival (SKMF) is easily the biggest on-island event of the summer season. Established in 1996, the festival showcases different genres of music that attract broad based international participation and promote St. Kitts and Nevis as a major tourist destination. The St. Kitts Music Festival has earned the reputation of being the most diverse musical show in the Caribbean. Over the years performers include such celebrity artists as John Legend, Shaggy, Wyclef Jean, Bankie Banx, and Dionne Warwick.
