Looking to make a lifelong friend? Caribbean legend suggests that two  hours in a kitchen with sweet potatoes, pumpkin, coconut, and cornflower might just do the trick. Such is the power of the conkie. Originating in West Africa, conkies have become a culinary favorite throughout the Caribbean. If properly prepared, some locals claim the gift of a conkie will secure a friendship for life. The sweet dish, resembling a small, cornmeal-wrapped parcel is eaten with a meal or as a snack and gains popularity during holidays on St. Kitts. And, indeed, the rich concoction, steamed in banana leaves and lightly spiced, conjures the warm comforts of family, hearth, home, and holiday when its aroma fills the kitchen.

St. Kitts Private Jet Terminal

The new private jet terminal is well underway at the Robert L. Bradshaw airport. The new facility is expected to be complete Spring 2013.

Christophe Harbour had 4 private jets parked on the tarmac for our event this month and look forward to many more soon.

The new facility will make yacht itineraries to the island even more attractive. Captains, consider finishing your charter here this season!

Yoga at The Beach House to benefit Hospitalized Children

More than 80 yogis from across St. Kitts gathered at the Beach House on November 24th for a morning of yoga practice to raise money and help provide comfort to hospitalized children.

From 6:00 a.m. until noon, The Beach House was transformed into an outdoor seaside studio and a variety of teachers led the group through a journey focused on mind, body, and soul. The event concluded with lunch provided by Chef Damien Heaney, with special vegan and gluten-free offerings.

The proceeds from the event benefit Ross University’s Josh and Friends Project, which will enable this organization to continue to give back to the children of St. Kitts who are hospitalized in the pediatric ward of the Joseph N....

Waterlogged with the Superyachts at the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show

Despite being a bit waterlogged from Tropical Storm Sandy, we've had a tremendous first day here at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Most folks with whom we spoke today are keen on Christophe Harbour and happy to hear that the superyacht marina is expected to come online for next season, albeit with limited services. We're sensing a continued uptick in the superyacht industry, and it seems our timing just might be spot on.

The interest in our marina berths continues to be high, and we're happy to have sold 8 of the 11 available in this first phase. Dragage Caraibe will soon arrive in St. Kitts to complete the remaining excavation work in the entry channel and yacht basin, and...
